Hannah Crerar is an astrology and human design reader, mindset coach, and yoga and meditation teacher. She has been immersed in the world of self-development for over 15 years and her work is both spiritual and psychological. She helps her clients optimise their energy, connect with their intuition and navigate changes in their relationships, career and home life.
Morning Ritual — I am obsessed with my morning rituals. I love to do some self-massage in the morning. Just a few minutes on my face and body is really helpful to get circulation going, especially in the winter. I then scrape my tongue and have about 3 glasses of lemon water to hydrate. If there is time I will also have celery juice.
Daily Inspiration — I love to get out into nature. If I can do some movement outside in the morning, I find I am far more motivated and creative throughout the day.
Evening Ritual — I will put my legs up the wall and journal. The two journal prompts I use are: "What did I love about today?" and "What did I learn from today?" This puts me into a positive mindset. If I can keep my eyes open I also love to read some fiction before I fall asleep.
Favourite Product — I love the Courage and Kindness body oils. I massage them into my my body as I get out of the shower when my skin is still damp. I have sensitive skin so I am very selective with products and fragrance. I always feel delightfully soft and nourished after using the Embodyme oils.
Words of Wisdom — I have always adored Oscar Wilde’s quote: “To love oneself is the beginning of a life long relationship.”
Self care will look very different throughout different seasons of our life and it’s important to get very honest about what season of life we are in and what is necessary to prioritise. At the end of the day, our energy is our most precious resource. Whether it’s a nice warm bubble bath, a serious goal setting session, an early night, a good laugh with a friend, a quiet cup of tea, or a high intensity work out; if our energy feels good as a result then that is self-care.
I also love the concept of choosing your hard. I recently saw these powerful words pop up on instagram. “Healing can be hard but hurting is harder. Change can be hard but not changing is harder. Taking responsibility is hard but feeling like a victim is harder.” (Thank you @ashybines) Sometimes self-care looks like making decisions that feel hard in the short-term but feel great long-term.
