Our People: Heidi Billington's Daily Rituals
In our busy lives, where women juggle many roles, daily rituals help keep us grounded and refreshed. Learning from others is just as important—embracing their wisdom can lead to growth and positive change. By incorporating these lessons into our routines, we can live a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Meet Heidi Billington, a naturopath, medicinal herbalist, and owner of Tonic Room. A holistic destination bringing together the best of green beauty in a modern and luxurious setting, transporting visitors to a place of calm for treatments and experiences.
Morning Ritual: What's the first thing you do in the morning to set a positive tone for the day?
I don't have a set morning ritual as I find variation is key to setting myself up for a productive day. Walking, stretching or slow starts with a cup of 'Higher Being" (a cacoa/mushroom drink by Loco Love) are my favourite options.
Daily Inspiration: Could you share a daily practice or routine that keeps you inspired and motivated?
I'm working towards a daily mediation practice. Weeks where meditation has been regular contain the most productive and stressless days. The goal for 2024 is 30 mins meditation daily!
Evening Ritual: How do you unwind and practice self care in the evening after a busy day?
I love to take our dog for a beach walk in the evenings. Rain or shine we try to get outside and appreciate nature.
Favourite Product: Is there a specific product of ours that you love?
They are all beautiful so I guess the Discovery Set is the winner. Being able to have a sensory experience according to how you are feeling or needing is such a nourishing thing to do.
Words of Wisdom/Words to live by: What's a piece of advice or words of wisdom that you might like to share in relation to self care or finding time for yourself?
'Never under-estimate the power of kindness. Kindness comes from incredible strength'. This is my absolute favourite saying as it not only reflects on how we should treat others, but also how you should treat yourself. I find in business that kindness can sometimes be viewed as a weakness and that couldn't be further from the truth. Spreading kindness and feeling gratitude are the best ways to take care of yourself and those around you.
