Our People: Renee Rigden's Daily Rituals

In our busy lives, where women juggle many roles, daily rituals help keep us grounded and refreshed. Learning from others is just as important—  embracing their wisdom can lead to growth and positive change. By incorporating these lessons into our routines, we can live a more fulfilling and balanced life.

Meet Renee, a Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach and Mindfulness Facilitator. Renee is passionate about empowering others to nourish themselves through nutrition and lifestyle advice.

She loves supporting others in their wellness journey, through easy and sustainable food and lifestyle adjustments, in 1:1 consultation, and through and her newly launched 21-Day Detox and Rebalance Program.

Renee is also a student, currently completing her Bachelor of Natural Medicine.

Morning Ritual: What's the first thing you do in the morning to set a positive tone for the day?

I am a morning person and I enjoy getting up early and getting a start on the day, I always start my day with water first and my pro-biotic. I like to eat a nourishing high-protein breakfast and I cycle a handful of favourite quick breakfasts throughout the week. Cycling foods is good for the diversity of our gut microbiome and our micronutrient intake. Protein plays an essential role in our diets, not just in the building and repair of muscle, but for appetite regulation, stabilising mood, energy, hormones and neurotransmitter production. I love eggs with greens and avocado or a protein yogurt berry bliss bowl with chia seeds and almonds.

Daily InspirationCould you share a daily practice or routine that keeps you inspired and motivated?

Movement is important for me, it gives me a boost of endorphins and helps me to sleep well too. I am currently training for a half marathon, and having a goal or an event to work towards keeps me accountable, and it keeps me getting out there too. I have this year started running with a run club once a week, and mixing up runs on my own or in a community is nice. I feel like in the last few years we have been isolated and getting into community events is great.

Evening RitualHow do you unwind and practice self care in the evening after a busy day?

A few evenings a week I love to get into my home sauna, I have two kids and most days we have something on but on the days we don’t I love using the sauna. Sweating is amazing for detox, it is also great for cardiovascular health, skin, and muscle relaxation. I often catch up on a health podcast when I am in there, or do a guided meditation like ‘The honest guys” on you-tube. I love to use Embodyme Nurturing Body Oils post-sauna too.

Favourite Product: Is there a specific product of ours that you love?

Joy is my absolute favourite scent. I genuinely feel uplifted when I use it. For me, the quality of these oils is evident in that it just feels, and smells so good. I am quite sensitive to synthetic fragrances so I really love the purity of your Nurturing Body Oils.

Words of Wisdom/Words to live by: What's a piece of advice or words of wisdom that you might like to share in relation to self care or finding time for yourself?

Mindset and how we manage stress key. I have done a lot of work recently on mindset and emotional health. This can be a true game-changer in emotional health but also in physical health.

I recommend that you put some of your energy every day towards mindset, whether it is in a gratitude journal, or up-regulating your D.O.S.E chemistry. Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins (our happy hormones). You can try practicing up regulating your D.O.S.E chemistry by doing simple things like giving longer hugs, cuddling pets, watching something funny on Netflix, experimenting with cold therapy or eating dark chocolate. Don’t mind if I do!
